We have extensive experience in the design of ecological experiments, on-farm trials and monitoring procedures to help guide the management of complex ecological systems. We can also help clients develop their own monitoring procedures to suit their situation.
Ecological monitoring is one of the most important exercises in the management of farms, conservation reserves, catchments and landscapes. Monitoring is important for early warning (are we heading towards our goal or not?) and for assessing and documenting changes that have occurred. Unfortunately monitoring is rarely done. Even when monitoring data is collected often it is poorly designed, the data never analysed and re-planning not undertaken in response to results.
